What are we doing this weekend?

If you’re part of a group of mates in London, you probably know this conversation:

“What are we doing Saturday?”

“Dunno, I’m easy.”

“Someone find something.”

And somehow, three hours later, you’re all going to the same pub you went to last weekend.

That’s basically why I built Yeahzy.

I’m usually the one making the plans

I’m Craig, an Aussie website designer who’s been living in London for a number of years.

I’ve somehow become the unofficial organiser of my friendship group. Over the years, I’ve probably been responsible for hundreds of random days and nights out with the lads.

Every other weekend, I’d find myself frantically searching Google, Google Maps, Time Out and about 17 other websites trying to find something fun to do.

Go-karts?
Darts?
Paddleboarding?
Comedy?
Something weird we’ve never tried?

Once I found something, I’d drop it into the group chat.

“Anyone fancy this?”

Then came the replies:

“Yes.”

“No.”

“Looks decent.”

“I’m easy.”

Eventually, I’d book something, work out the time and location, find the Google Maps link and post everything back into the chat.

It worked.

But it was a lot of work.

So I built Yeahzy

I love doing fun stuff with my mates, so I thought:

Why isn't there a really simple app just for this?

Something a bit like TikTok meets Time Out, but made specifically for groups of friends.

Open Yeahzy.

Scroll through ideas.

Find something that looks fun.

Send it to the group.

Make a plan.

That's it.

Just the good stuff

One thing I've always found frustrating about Time Out is that it tries to be everything for everyone.

Theatre? Sure.

Art exhibitions? Yep.

Family activities? Of course.

But if I'm trying to organise something with the lads, I'm probably not planning a trip to the theatre.

I want stuff to do.

Go-karting.
Darts.
Comedy.
Food.
Live music.
Sport.
Paddleboarding.
Games.
Weird experiences.
And plenty of things I haven't thought of yet.

Yeahzy is focused on finding those kinds of things — and some of them are completely free.

London only. For now.

I'm launching Yeahzy with 100 things to do in London.

I've picked a bunch of things I've either done myself or genuinely think are worth checking out, with a few new discoveries thrown in.

You can tell Yeahzy what you like doing and where in London you're based, so you can find things that are more relevant to you and your mates.

Found something you love? Save it to your Saved page so you can come back to it later.

And I'm going to keep adding to the list whenever I discover something awesome.

Because there are a ridiculous number of things to do in London.

We just need to get better at finding them.

The whole point

I'm hoping Yeahzy gets people to do more stuff together.

More random Saturday plans.

More “we've never done that before.”

More stories to talk about afterwards.

And hopefully a little less:

“Pub?”

Find something awesome to do in London this weekend.

Yeahzy is completely free to use. There's no app to download and no signup required.

Just head to Yeahzy.com, find something you fancy, send it to the group and make a plan.

See you out there. 🍻
